Sustainable Packaging

There’s no reason at all why you can’t have your packaging be completely sustainable. Many people don’t offer sustainable packaging for their customers, but if you find the right company to work with, you can actually represent a company that does. Many companies have to use thousands of cardboard packages every month or even every week as part of their business, making it even more important to make sure that you choose approaches that will keep your business sustainable and with a positive impact on the environment.

Sustainable Cardboard Options

If you find the right company to work with, you can find cardboard boxes that are reusable. The right company to help supply your boxes will be using boxes that have already been used many times. They can also guide you on how to reuse the boxes you are using as well, including reusing them as boxes, of course, but also including making sure that you have options to recycle them in other ways.

Cardboard Recycling

Once you receive items in cardboard boxes as a company or a consumer, you will have the option to recycle them in the best ways possible. The right company can help guide you in this, in addition to being a practitioner of such approaches themselves. It’s important to be aware of this in companies, given the fact that if you don’t recycle, you will end up with the box being in a landfill, which can have the effect or release greenhouse gasses into the environment when you fail to recycle it properly. This will lead to the greenhouse effect getting worse and worse in the world. That’s why being careful about the companies you interact with in any capacity is extremely important.

Sustainable Bags

Another way you can help to contribute to a greener Earth is if you make sure to use sustainable bags if you order custom bags for your business. Some bags use special paper that you can reuse or recycle instead of normal bags that constitute oil waste which can increase carbon imprints and problems in landfills.

Some companies will offer you options like non-woven polypropylene bags that are greener and better for the Earth. If you find the right companies to help you with your bagging needs they will likely have special options for guiding you to recycle bags as well, such as helping you put the bags in the right areas for recycling, for example.

Going Sustainable

There’s no doubt that some companies are just more focused on helping out the Earth than others are. It’s well worth going the extra effort you put in to help, both because of the regular effects of going eco-friendly, and because your customers will appreciate it specifically and you can use that in your advertising if you like.

The right custom mag and box company will make it much easier for you to get everything exactly the way you want it, with exactly as many eco-friendly features as you could ever want.

Weekend Family Time

So this weekend was a wonderful weekend, as I got to see my oldest son and his fiancé. We have been dog sitting for our grand dog, while my son went on a weekend ski trip. We listened to the stories that our kids told us about their weekend trip and then I got to discuss some wedding ideas with my son’s fiancé. She told me that she is considering olive green for the bridesmaids dresses. Oh how I love that idea, it’s so different and so perfect for the impression I have of my new daughter-in-law-to-be. It goes so perfectly with a end of summer/fall theme and it is also timeless in my mind, one of those colors that will never look like a fad (as the baby blue color looks now when I look back at our wedding pictures).

Speaking of fads, have you seen how some people put out candy boxes or other trinkets or specialized things on their wedding tables during the reception? I’m not too keen on the idea of placing candy boxes in front of guests, but it’s a neat idea to put something in particular in front of everyone before dinner begins.

My daughter-in-law-to-be (DILTB) also showed me a couple of pictures of what she is considering her bouquet to look like. That was exciting! Needless to say after they left I had to run next-door to the shoppe and gather up a handful of flowers to see how closely I could replicate the idea that she is pondering. The flowers included some eucalyptus, some succulents, and some white or pale pink flowers to offer a little bit of color but she hasn’t decided yet if she’d rather stick with a greenery and white theme or add that tiny pit of colors. I went through many boxes to find that perfect shade of pale pink to tuck in. It was a rough handful but it gave us an idea of what it would look like, of course you have to use your imagination to envision the beauty of the final product once the handful was arranged and tied together properly.

This morning I scrolled through social media for a few minutes before work and I saw a posting from the venue that they have rented for their wedding, the venue is absolutely gorgeous and will need very little addition to make it just stunning. My DILTB told me that they will soon have a tasting at the venue to decide on the final menu for the wedding. How exciting to think of the many couples coming together to sample all the different varieties of meals and dishes that they could choose for their special day. I’m so hoping that we can make this tasting with our kids, it sounds like it would be an awesome evening to be apart of leading up to their wedding.

So to wind up the weekend I neatly boxed up all the flowers that I have been stockpiling for this wedding. I neatly tucked them in for a short wait until October 2 and I smiled as I looked back at all the boxes holding the beautiful flowers and thought, what a glorious day it’s going to be when my son weds his forever friend, when our DILTB becomes part of our family for good. Happy wedding planning to all of you.

How to calculate the cost and the Volume of the Strapping Materials

You may be looking for the right kind of packaging materials, or maybe you’re new to product packaging and need to start from square one, or you have an idea you just want to change. A big pat of this is also to look at strapping material to band it together, and you may want to use this, but you’re not sure if bulk buying is a good option for you. Ut it can cost more, and you don’t want to have to overpay. There are different ways to look at it, and you can from there calculate the shipping costs from this.

How to calculate it

When you calculate, there are a few things that you must do first before you can safely choose the right type of packaging costs for you. First you must get the right type of strapping material. This may include polypropylene strapping, steel strapping, and polyester strapping. Unless you’re packaging really heavy stuff, polypropylene or polyester are your best options, and most use poly strapping, since it is pretty robust. If you’re doing hand strapping, polyester is a good one. Printed strapping is also a ting, since it can be branded with different information including the product, any warnings, and other additional important information, so it’ll be a protective element for packaging too.

Measuring the Length of the Strapping

You want to first of all figure out the way to strap the package. Usually, a 3/8” strap is a good one, and it does give you decent bang for the price you pay. You  can then use measurements for a box or a bundle, whatever it is that you’re using, and from there you can figure out if you want to strap it a certain way, and from there, add up the dimensions of it to make sure that you have the minimum length necessary for every single strap that’s there. From there, you will also want to calculate the amount of boxes too.

So let’s take for example you use two straps for every single length on the boxes, and then 2 for the width. The box is 5” high, and 9” across, so that would be 28 inches totally, so make it around 30” of straps for a box, and from there, you take the 12,900 and then divide it by the amount, and it will calculate how many boxes you can strap with this. So what then? Well you will then want to calculate how many coils you’ll need for this. So let’s say you’re doing 8600 boxes with those dimensions, you’re going to need about 20 coils for all of them.  You then find the amount a vendor will charge, you may then calculate that based on how many coils you need, and then there you go.

Remember that when you do this, you will want to make sure that you know how much strapping you’ll minimally need. Doing this now is a better idea of how much you need. This is good if you’re thinking of starting a packaging project that uses this, since it will prevent you from possibly overpaying for this or will stop underpayment where it may cause you to have to for using the strapping for shipping. With all of that said, do these steps before you start your next project since it does save you not only a lot of time and effort, but also is good if you’re someone who wants to save a little bit of money along the way as well.

Ideas for Gift Boxes

We all love to get gifts wrapped in pretty packaging. Receiving gifts in beautiful gift boxes is sometimes half the fun. Whether you’re running a business or just looking for creative gift boxes for your next special event, there are several types of gift boxes and packaging to choose from.

Creative Candy Boxes

There are several types of packaging and unique styles for presenting candy. One of the best types of boxes for displaying candy is view-top or window candy boxes. Mouth-watering pieces of candy can be displayed in plastic or cardboard and then easily viewed through the film on the top. This is a great way for retailers to promote their candy or individuals to see exactly what they’re getting.

A variety of colors, textures, and shapes can also be used when packaging candy. You can choose from bright colors that complement the colors of the candy. There are also several types of textures such as foil, matte, or velvet style boxes to choose from. Finally, choosing a shape that is different from the traditional square or rectangular type of box is always fun. A heart-shaped box is perfect for Valentine’s Day while one that is star shaped would work well when giving candy during the Christmas season.

Beautiful Boxes for Clothing and Jewelry

Everything from lingerie to dresses and suits should be packaged in attractive boxes. If the gift box itself is made from shiny or textured material it can stand alone without any wrapping. If it is a simple white box it will likely need to be gift wrapped. Gift boxes for clothing are usually the standard type that has a bottom and a removable lid. Some boxes are entirely connected with the lid folding back when opened.

When selecting gift boxes for jewelry or clothing it’s important to choose a box that is slightly bigger than the item that will be put inside. This is because for jewelry you’ll want to have room for cotton or some type of velvet material to place the jewelry on. Boxes for clothing items will require slightly less room for tissue paper.

Gift Boxes for Toys and Household Items

Children love bright, shiny packaging when receiving toys as gifts. Just as with candy, jewelry, and clothing, there are many types of textures, colors, and shapes that can be chosen for boxing toys or household items such as kitchen utensils or bath towels.

The thickness or sturdiness of the box should be taken into account when packaging toys or household items since these things are often heavier than candy or clothing. Make sure to pick a box that can be securely closed after the item has been placed inside. Since toys and household items need sturdier types of boxes, those made of material other than cardboard are great options. Boxes made of wood and various types of metal are not only decorative but great ways to store the items.

No matter what type of item needs to be boxed it’s important to take the time to select the best type of packaging. A gorgeous gift box is part of the overall effect and can make any item seem extra special.

How to Calculate the Box’s Measurements

Assessing a package appears to be an easy task! These measurements, on either hand, are critical again for the security of your goods in the bespoke container! Box measurements are indeed an important aspect of every package since they influence what components are used, the expense of manufacture, and transportation and storage of goods expenses.

Consider it again in this manner: less area for mobility inside the container implies less capacity for damages and lower total expenditures. Sizing the box properly for one bespoke packaged job seems to be more difficult than it appears at the first look. We’ve outlined the most important issues to examine and thus a stage process guideline for estimating the size of each container.

The Container’s 3 Dimensions

Recognizing how else to precisely determine the diameter of a package was the very first way of producing ideal packaging. Although that might appear to be elementary math, properly calculating your measurements necessitates some thought. So, whatever specific measurements are required?

The height, breadth, and thickness of a container seem to be the 3 key parameters under which it is defined. To begin, check the three definitions from the front aperture of both the package:

  • Length: While gazing just at the edge of each container, this is the largest side.
  • Width: While gazing just at the edge of that container, the smaller edge.
  • Intensity (Length): That side that is parallel to the full breadth of the object.

The thickness may become the biggest measurement in a high but rather up instead of down box, with the lengths and widths being lesser. While rectangular boxes must, in principle, have equilateral triangles, this isn’t always the case in practice.

Therefore, to guarantee that your packing is equal to the grade for your items, make sure that estimates each measurement precisely! The scale and scope of lengthy containers would be considerably shorter than that of the lengths. Your manufacturer’s form and quantity will dictate the sort of container you use. Irrespective of any style of container, nevertheless, the height, breadth, and thickness will determine the specifications necessary for manufacture.

Interior Dimensions and Their Significance

The inside measurements are used to determine the technical standards for package size. It’s critical to understand the difference between interior and exterior dimensions if you want a container that suits your items precisely. For the producer or the products, the inside measurements are significantly more precise! Most producers, understandably, are highly particular about just the amount of externally and internally measurements.

And besides, nobody wishes their goods to be harmed as a result of inaccurate assessments. While measuring the outward measurements of a container may appear more intuitive and convenient, the inside measurements are truly essential for any packaging assignment.

For just about any flexible packaging assignment, it’s all about the proportions. This assures that your goods will fit within the package, and you might just customize the specs to guarantee your safe products. Allowing for little displacement from the throughput of the overall box guarantees the protection of the items throughout shipment and processing, allowing the company to consistently deliver the greater product.

Exterior Measurements: A Problem

Whenever a package is assessed just by its exterior measurements, it may be troublesome since exterior dimensions would not account for the depth of both the package, resulting in packing that still does not match. These might potentially be harmful items that require a snug fit throughout their wrapping.

That’s why estimating a given box’s measurements using its inside dimensions eliminates any ambiguity. Perforated boxes have a ribbed texture braided among adjacent paperboards, thickening the materials and contributing a few millimeters to just about every value measured from either the container’s exterior liner.

As either a result, the inside specifications will offer you more precise measurements, to make it simpler to establish the container size you’ll have to bundle your goods. The diameter of such a container may be calculated using the method below. The amount will make it easier for you to establish your shipment, warehouses, and distributing operations.

This will also assist the visitor in determining just how the goods would fit inside the package you choose. The capacity of the package serves an important part regarding materials and resource allocation, along with the construction method!

So make sure you don’t skip that step! It is indeed simple to calculate the capacity of the container provided that you understand some basic measurements. To calculate the capacity, just combine the 3 dimensions. Those measurements would approximate in centimeters squared. Not so much a natural mathematician? Don’t be concerned! To acquire the correct established criteria for any packing, be using this handy calculator. Users may use these measurements for every packing job now because they possess a clearer grasp of methods to estimate the measurements for the container more precisely.
